Environmental Officer
Job Summary
- Perform environmental assessments to identify potential risks hazards and impacts on
health and safety. - Develop and implement environmental management plans to mitigate risks and ensure
compliance with regulatory requirements. - Monitor environmental performance and compliance with applicable laws regulations
and industry standards. - Investigate environmental incidents accidents and non-compliance events to identify
root causes and implement corrective actions. - Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees and contractors
to promote a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance. - Manage hazardous materials and substances safely including storage handling
transportation and disposal. - Conduct air and water quality monitoring to assess environmental impacts and ensure
compliance with regulatory standards. - Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects facilities or operations to
evaluate potential environmental risks and impacts. - Obtain environmental permits and approvals for activities facilities or projects in
accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering Microbiology Environmental Science or related field.
- Minimum 3 5 years of total work experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant environmental experience.
- GCC experience is an advantage (at least 2 years).
- Familiar with HSE management systems such as *ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001*.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations on air quality water quality waste management and pollution control.
- Ability to conduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Skilled in environmental monitoring techniques for air water soil and hazardous materials.
