PagerDuty is seeking aSoftware Engineer to join our diverse and customer-focused team!

Youll be working on our strategic integrations which connect PagerDuty to the many tools our customers rely on. The work spans a wide range of technologies including APIs webhooks OAuth and SaaS platforms across multiple languages and youll help advance how we use AI as a core part of day-to-day engineering.

Why we need you

The PagerDuty Integrations Team is looking for a software engineer whos eager to learn new technologies. Our integrations connect PagerDuty to the wider set of tools our customers use every day spanning many languages platforms and protocols. Youll help create the foundation for these systems by building highly available services scalable databases and secure APIs. Youll also help promote engineering excellence across our design development test and release cycles with AI as a core part of how you work.

Key Responsibilities

• From day one youll be designing coding testing and shipping backend applications and microservices APIs webhooks and front-end interfaces that ensure we deliver reliable scalable integrations to our customers.
• Youll collaborate closely with engineers across teams.
• With 20000 global customers and growing youll be solving really interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand.
• You will be participating in your teams on-call rotation triaging and addressing production issues as they arise.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience designing building and operating large systems with scalability availability and performance requirements.
• Development experience building and operating customer-facing web-based products.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g. Java Ruby or Elixir) and with AI coding tools.
• A demonstrated eagerness to learn new technologies and pick up unfamiliar languages and platforms quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

• You have operational experience in cloud technologies such as AWS
• Youre comfortable moving between multiple languages and tech stacks
• You have experience integrating with third-party APIs webhooks or OAuth-based authentication
• You have experience with SaaS platforms such as Jira Salesforce or ServiceNow
• You have operational experience with databases & tools (e.g. MySQL Aurora Kafka NoSQL applying software engineering principles to data problems etc.)
• Experience building user-facing public APIs
• Youve had experience designing & implementing distributed and highly available systems
