Software Developer (C)

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer (C) to join our onboard software this role you will help develop low-level core software for aerospace applications. You will work within a tightly specified client tech stack while actively contributing fresh ideas for software architecture performance optimisation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop test and maintain high-quality C software for flight software and onboard systems.
• Follow strict C coding standards and best practices to ensure maintainable safety-critical and resource-efficient code.
• Work with Git for version control and collaborate closely with team members during code reviews.
• Debug profile and optimise low-level software to improve performance and reliability under tight memory and computational constraints.
• Assist in requirement analysis technical design and documentation under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in agile development activities including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.

What We Look For

• A university degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Computer Science Software Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2 years of professional or strong project-based experience with C programming.
• Strong knowledge of C fundamentals pointer manipulation manual memory management and low-level system concepts.
• Practical experience with Git for version control.
• Strong analytical debugging and problem-solving skills for embedded or system-level environments.
• High attention to detail and a proactive willingness to learn and suggest improvements.
• Proficiency in English both written and spoken.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience or academic background in space-related projects particularly ESA missions or familiarity with ECSS software development standards.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or bare-metal development.
• Basic scripting experience in Python or Bash for testing and automation.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and static analysis tools.
• Experience working with software requirement specifications and technical documentation.
