Cobol Developer

Overview:

One of the biggest banks in the European Union is seeking a Cobol Developer to help the team that is developing a system that is a vital legacy platform that processes several million of daily transactions enabling settlement and delivery of client instructions on the UK market and maintaining accurate clientaccount positions.

What will you do

• Translate business needs into clear technical specs and develop/maintain legacy COBOL code.
• Use AIassisted tools to understand refactor and safely modify impacted components.
• Build and keep unit/integration test suites; support acceptancetest planning and execution.
• Support the team in adopting modern tooling introduce AIdriven data validation CI/CD pipelines and advanced monitoring to enhance system security and performance.
• Document changes manage version control and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

What are we looking for

• 4 years of relevant professional experience
• Expertise in Microfocus COBOL
• Familiarity with PowerHouse (4GL) and/or Eloquence (Marxmeier) technologies.
• Handson experience with DevOps tools (e.g. Ansible ToolChain) and Git versioncontrol.
• Background in the financial sector.
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Fluent in English.
