Application Support & Automation Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for an Application Support & Automation Engineer to join an international team responsible for supporting and operating critical banking applications. We are seeking a professional with experience in Application Support (L1/L2) strong troubleshooting skills and solid knowledge of automation cloud technologies and infrastructure who can contribute to the stability efficiency and continuous improvement of services.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide application support for critical solutions within a banking environment.
- Manage and resolve incidents service requests and operational support activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations and shift-based support activities.
- Monitor application performance availability and stability.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) activities and business continuity tests.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts for provisioning configuration and deployment automation.
- Contribute to technology modernization initiatives including the containerization of legacy applications.
- Administer and support environments based on Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support and train other team members on automation and infrastructure-related topics.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational process optimization.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations Application Support or Software Engineering.
- Experience in L1/L2 Application Support preferably within banking or financial services environments.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and command-line administration (CLI).
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of PL/SQL and database troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools ideally Dynatrace.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or similar platforms.
- Scripting experience using Python and/or Bash.
- Experience working with Cloud platforms such as AWS Azure IBM Cloud or Google Cloud.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with a cloud provider (IBM Cloud AWS Azure or GCP)
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Ansible and Docker
Nice-to-Have Certifications:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294)
- Developing Advanced Automation with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (DO374)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (preferred)
- HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate (preferred)
