Hatch is seeking an experiencedRAM Lead / Senior RAM Engineer Rail Systems to join our global Systems Integration and Assurance practice in Poland.
Reporting to the Regional Lead Systems Integration & Assurance the successful candidate will lead Reliability Availability and Maintainability activities for major international rail and metro programmes including large European automated metro programmes.
The role will focus on establishing a practical and credible RAM approach for a complex multidisciplinary railway involving rolling stock signalling power communications stations tunnels depots and operational systems. The successful candidate will work closely with systems engineering requirements interfaces safety design and operational teams to ensure reliability availability maintainability and lifecycle performance considerations are integrated into the emerging solution.
We are looking for an experienced RAM reliability or asset-performance professional who combines strong analytical capability with a practical understanding of railway design operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading RAM activities coordinating multidisciplinary inputs and communicating performance requirements and risks clearly to project stakeholders.
As the successful candidate you will:
- Lead RAM activities for major rail and metro programmes.
- Develop and implement RAM plans processes methods and governance arrangements appropriate to each project phase.
- Define system-level reliability availability and maintainability requirements and support their allocation to systems subsystems and responsible parties.
- Develop tender-stage RAM strategies assumptions performance models and allocation approaches.
- Coordinate RAM inputs across rolling stock signalling traction power communications SCADA stations tunnels depots and operational systems.
- Work with the Requirements Manager to integrate RAM requirements and allocations into the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Support the definition of verification methods acceptance criteria and evidence required to demonstrate RAM compliance.
- Undertake or coordinate reliability and availability analyses including reliability modelling availability modelling Reliability Block Diagrams and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis where appropriate.
- Evaluate system architecture and design proposals against operational performance and availability requirements.
- Identify reliability availability and maintainability risks assumptions dependencies and potential performance gaps.
- Review design information to ensure that maintainability accessibility replacement inspection and operational recovery considerations are addressed.
- Support the integration of maintenance requirements and whole-life performance considerations into system and infrastructure design.
- Coordinate RAM inputs from designers contractors systems suppliers operators and maintainers.
- Support the development of failure reporting analysis and corrective action approaches for later project stages.
- Work closely with Systems Engineering Interface Management Requirements Management Safety Assurance and Verification and Validation teams.
- Support multidisciplinary technical reviews RAM workshops and performance-related risk assessments.
- Prepare RAM reports technical notes dashboards and presentations for project teams clients and other stakeholders.
- Support the development of tender submissions technical strategies and delivery plans relating to system performance and lifecycle obligations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Contribute to the continued development of Hatchs Systems Integration and Assurance capability in Poland and across Europe.
You will bring to the role:
- A bachelors degree in engineering Systems Engineering reliability engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
- Typically at least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in RAM reliability engineering asset performance systems assurance or safety-critical engineering.
- Experience delivering RAM activities on rail metro transportation or other complex infrastructure programmes.
- A good understanding of reliability availability and maintainability principles and their application throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Experience developing and implementing RAM plans requirements allocations or performance strategies.
- Experience undertaking or reviewing reliability and availability analyses performance models or reliability allocations.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques such as Reliability Block Diagrams FMECA Fault Tree Analysis maintainability analysis and lifecycle performance assessment.
- Knowledge of European rail assurance standards particularly CENELEC EN 50126 and familiarity with EN 50128 and EN 50129.
