Job Summary
The Production Scheduler is responsible for reviewing and scheduling customer orders to support an efficient and balanced production and installation workflow. The role involves reviewing order queues verifying order information assigning appropriate ship dates and managing the overall production schedule based on available capacity.
This position requires strong attention to detail good judgment basic problem-solving and math skills and effective English communication. The Production Scheduler will also communicate regularly with Sales teams regarding scheduling requests order requirements and potential scheduling adjustments.
Review the daily queue of customer orders that require production scheduling.
Perform required checks to ensure order information is complete and accurate before scheduling.
Identify missing incomplete or potentially conflicting order information and take the appropriate action before proceeding.
Review production shipping and installation calendars to determine appropriate scheduling dates.
Assign ship dates to orders based on production capacity installation requirements and established scheduling guidelines.
Monitor the overall production schedule to identify days with unusually high or low workloads.
Adjust and move orders between available dates when appropriate to maintain a balanced production schedule.
Consider capacity timing order requirements and other relevant factors when making scheduling decisions.
Respond to scheduling requests and inquiries from Sales teams through email and other approved communication channels.
Clearly communicate scheduling changes concerns conflicts or missing information to the appropriate team members.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date order and scheduling information within web-based systems.
Follow established scheduling procedures business rules and service expectations.
Perform basic calculations and use available information to make sound scheduling decisions.
Identify scheduling issues and use basic problem-solving skills to determine appropriate next steps.
Escalate unusual complex or unresolved scheduling issues to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
Support overall production efficiency by helping maintain a consistent and manageable daily workload.
Previous experience in operations manufacturing production scheduling supply chain logistics order management or a related role.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or inconsistent information.
Good basic math and numerical skills.
Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to organize and prioritize a queue of orders and tasks.
Ability to make scheduling decisions based on established guidelines and available capacity.
Comfortable working with web-based applications and learning new systems.
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with internal teams.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
