Job purpose:

Globespan Travel Management is a leading Canadian corporate travel management company providing innovative travel solutions to business clients across North America. Following the recent acquisition of U.S.-based Key Travel Globespan is expanding its international presence and strengthening its global service capabilities.

The Financial Controller based in Globespans Manila support officeis responsible for leading the accounting financial reporting and financial control functions supporting multiple business units. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information supports compliance and governance requirements and provides financial insights that enable effective business decision-making.

The Financial Controller will partner with finance and operational leaders across the organization to support reporting planning process improvement and business performance initiatives. This role offers a growth opportunity for a finance professional seeking to expand from a strong accounting and controllership foundation into broader commercial finance and strategic business partnering responsibilities.

What will be your key responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership & Reporting
    • Lead day-to-day accounting operations across GTM and INA Prime.
    • Manage month-end quarter-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Oversee Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable General Ledger account reconciliations and cash management
    • processes.
    • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
    • Support consolidation and reporting across multiple entities and currencies.
    • Ensure accounting records are complete accurate and maintained in accordance with company policies.
    • Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes reporting efficiency and financial with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

  • Compliance Audit & Risk Management
    • Support compliance with applicable accounting standards company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
    • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance processes.
    • Identify and escalate financial and operational risks while supporting mitigation efforts.
    • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of financial data and records.

  • Cash Management & Financial Operations
    • Support cash flow monitoring and forecasting activities.
    • Assist with working capital management and cash utilization planning.
    • Monitor financial transactions and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
    • Partner with operational teams to improve financial processes and controls.

  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead coach and develop members of the accounting team.
    • Foster a collaborative accountable and high-performing team environment.
    • Promote best practices process discipline and continuous learning within the finance function.
    • Support succession planning and capability development across the team.

  • Business Partnership & Financial Analysis
    • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support informed decision-making.
    • Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial planning activities.
    • Analyze business performance profitability costs and operational trends.
    • Develop and enhance management reporting dashboards and performance metrics.
    • Support business cases process improvement initiatives and strategic projects through financial analysis.
    • Build commercial finance and business partnering capabilities to support future organizational growth.

What are we looking for

  • Qualifications & Experience
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
    • CPA designation preferred but not required for exceptional candidates with relevant experience.
    • 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience leading or supervising an accounting or finance team.
    • Strong experience in financial reporting month-end close account reconciliations and general accounting operations.
    • Experience managing Accounts Payable cash management and financial controls.
    • Exposure to multi-entity and multi-currency environments is highly desirable.
    • Experience supporting multinational organizations shared services BPO travel professional services or similar industries is an advantage.
    • Experience coordinating internal and external audits.
    • Familiarity with budgeting forecasting and financial analysis processes.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems/ERP platforms.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles internal controls and financial governance practices.

    • Experience supporting North American businesses or working with Canadian and/or U.S. finance teams.
    • Experience in a multi-company or group structure.
    • Exposure to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) management reporting or business performance analysis.
    • Experience participating in finance transformation system implementation or process improvement initiatives.
    • Experience in SAP is an asset
