Job Summary
The Finance Assistant provides dedicated support to the financial management of the Philippine Sponsorship donor-funded program by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions maintaining complete financial documentation and supporting compliance with organizational and donor requirements. Working closely with the Senior Finance Officer Finance Officer program teams and field staff the role contributes to strong internal controls accountability audit readiness and efficient program implementation through effective finance administration and coordination across field operations.
Essential skills knowledge or experience
- Experience in finance accounting bookkeeping or financial administration preferably within a non-government organization (NGO) or development setting
- Knowledge of financial documentation cash and bank transaction processing liquidation review expense tracking and records management
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail when processing financial transactions and supporting financial reporting requirements
- Good organizational skills communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with field-based staff and multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and experience in using financial or accounting systems
Desirable skills knowledge or experience
- Experience working on donor-funded projects and familiarity with donor compliance requirements and financial documentation standards
- Experience supporting field office operations including cash advances liquidation monitoring procurement documentation and audit preparation.
- Knowledge of internal control procedures segregation of duties and financial risk management practices.
- Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or computerized accounting software.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment with minimal supervision.
Required education and qualifications (certifications licenses accreditations etc.)
- Bachelors degree in accountancy Management Accounting Financial Management Business Administration or any related field.
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in finance accounting bookkeeping or administrative finance support
- Training or certification in accounting bookkeeping financial management or related disciplines is an advantage
