Data Engineer with AWS
Location
Panama (onsite- hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in AWS and Databricks to support large-scale data platform modernization and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing modern scalable data solutions transforming legacy data platforms into cloud-based architectures and enabling advanced analytics and BI capabilities.
This role requires close collaboration with global stakeholders and proficiency in English (Spanish is a strong plus for regional alignment).
Role & Responsibilities
8 10 years of experience in Data Engineering with strong hands-on expertise in AWS and Databricks
Proficiency in PySpark SQL and Python
Strong experience with AWS services such as S3 Lambda Glue Redshift Athena and EMR
Expertise in building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines
Experience with Databricks (Delta Lake notebooks workflows)
Solid understanding of data modeling data warehousing and distributed systems
Experience with data migration and cloud modernization projects
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English required (Spanish preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in cross-regional/global teams
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data engineering
Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks
