Software Developer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the Settlement & Tax team. The position will be based in Oslo and start as soon as possible. You will report to the Engineering Manager Alican Met.

You will primarily be responsible for:

• Developing testing and maintaining high-quality backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot

• Designing and implementing scalable event-driven architectures

• Building and integrating RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI standards

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and system enhancements

• Troubleshooting and resolving application issues ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness

• Writing clean maintainable and testable code following best practices

• Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with team members

• Supporting unit testing and continuous integration pipelines

• Using GIT for version control and team collaboration

• Contributing to our observability setup (experience with OpenTelemetry is a plus)

• Creating and maintaining clear technical documentation

Your profile:

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles (e.g. Clean Code SOLID basic Domain-Driven Design)

• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs using Java or Kotlin

• Familiarity with event-driven systems; experience with Kafka is a strong plus

• Proficiency in GIT and test-driven development

• Knowledge of or interest in observability practices (e.g. logs metrics tracing)

• Experience with Quarkus or similar frameworks is highly desirable

• Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset

• At least five years of relevant experience in backend development

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field

• Excellent communication skills in English
