Job Summary
Our client a leading global offshore drilling contractor is seeking a senior HSE Supervisor in Norway to drive health safety risk assurance and compliance performance across regional offshore operations onshore facilities and Alliance Partners.
Position Overview
- Role: HSE Supervisor (Senior Capacity)
- Location: Norway (Onshore with offshore and domestic travel as required)
- Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Risk & Compliance Leadership: Drive regional HSE risk and compliance activities supporting the Risk and Compliance Manager across assigned rigs shore-based facilities and Alliance Partners.
- HSE Systems & HSE Cases: Maintain HSE policies develop client bridging documents and emergency response plans and manage rig-specific HSE Cases ensuring risk controls are updated and communicated.
- Operations Support: Act as the HSE focal point for rig start-ups ramp-downs moves and new country deployments.
- Incident Investigation & Auditing: Participate in incident investigations using 5 Whys root-cause methodology conduct chemical audits and perform HSE management system audits across company rigs and shore-based locations.
- Occupational Health & Reporting: Coordinate occupational illness and workplace injury case management under Norwegian statutory requirements liaising with HR medical providers and regulatory authorities to ensure safe return-to-work protocols.
- Stakeholder & Customer Liaison: Represent the company in client business reviews tender HSE submissions industry committees and regulatory inquiries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5 years in the energy industry with a background in maintaining world-class HSE infrastructure and governance systems.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA) requirements relevant coastal state rules Havtil framework MODU Codes ISM ISPS SOLAS and MARPOL.
- Certifications & Technical Skills: Valid BOSIET certification; hands-on experience in chemical audits and 5 Whys incident investigation methodologies.
- Interpersonal & Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills capable of engaging offshore crews leadership teams regulatory officials and client representatives.
- Mobility: High integrity and full capability/willingness to undertake offshore and domestic travel.
