The Dimensional Control Surveyor is responsible for ensuring that all fabrication and construction activities comply with project dimensional control requirements specifications drawings and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). The role involves conducting dimensional surveys monitoring subcontractor activities auditing dimensional control processes managing documentation and supporting quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform dimensional control inspections and surveys in accordance with project specifications and procedures.
- Verify compliance of fabrication and construction activities against approved design and construction drawings.
- Ensure the correct application of dimensional control specifications and requirements.
- Attend and witness dimensional inspections as defined within approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Monitor and verify dimensional control activities performed by subcontractors and third-party personnel.
- Audit dimensional control processes to ensure compliance with project and client requirements.
- Verify the calibration status and suitability of survey and measurement equipment.
- Verify compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) relating to dimensional control activities.
- Review and validate dimensional control documentation prior to inspection requests.
- Monitor report and track dimensional deviations identified during inspections.
- Manage the follow-up and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Inspection Finding Reports (IFRs).
- Ensure all dimensional control records and documentation are accurate complete and maintained in accordance with project requirements.
- Support document control activities including revision management and compliance with client third-party and subcontractor requirements.
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to:
- Dimensional control inspection progress.
- Dimensional control documentation delivery and quality.
- Provide regular updates on inspection status dimensional findings and project progress.
- Report dimensional control issues and findings to the Site Manager and Project Dimensional Control Manager.
- Participate in toolbox talks and project coordination meetings.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with dimensional control requirements.
- Conduct audits of external subcontractors where required.
- Coordinate with client representatives inspectors engineering teams and quality personnel to ensure successful execution of inspection activities.
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in any engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Dimensional Control Surveying or Quality Inspection within fabrication construction offshore oil & gas renewables or heavy industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of dimensional control methodologies and inspection processes.
- Experience interpreting engineering fabrication and construction drawings.
- Fluent English communication skills (minimum C1 level).
- Professional survey or dimensional control certifications.
- Experience working on large-scale fabrication yards or offshore construction projects.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection reporting processes.
Candidates should have knowledge of and experience working to relevant industry standards including:
- DIN EN 1090-2
- DIN SPEC 18888-13
- EN ISO 13920
- NORSOK M-101
- IACS Recommendation No. 47
Knowledge of additional fabrication welding and quality assurance standards will be considered an advantage.
