We are currently seeking:
Digital Summer Intern
BW LNGs IT and Digitalization team builds the digital backbone connecting our ships at sea with our teams onshore from vessel infrastructure to AI-driven tools that help crew and shore staff make better decisions faster. We run a small hands-on team that works directly with operations technical and business stakeholders not in a silo. You will get real ownership over solutions from idea to rollout which means your work has visible impact fast. If you want exposure to both the practical realities of ship management and the technical challenges of digitalizing a global fleet this is a rare place to get both.
Potential responsibilities:
- Design build and deploy new features on our internal digital platform taking ownership of specific modules from concept to production
- Improve onshore and shipboard operations by leveraging digital solutions such as custom apps and AI agents
- Develop and deploy applied AI tools that automate and support core business workflows
- Support business users with data analytics turning our high frequency vessel and operations data into actionable insight
- Drive user adoption of our applications through training user support and feedback gathering
- Suggest how we best leverage available functionality in existing application portfolio
- Actual tasks will depend on qualifications and departmental needs at the time.
Qualifications:
- Current 3rd - or 4th - year student pursuing an MSc degree in Engineering or Business (e.g. Marine Technology Computer Science Industrial Economics Physics and Mathematics Business Analytics) with relevant studies covering information technology informatics cybernetics or equivalent
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of AI and interest in how frontier technology can be applied in a business setting
- Thrive on working closely with the business side and focus on generating value to our customers
- General interest in marine technology shipping or maritime sector is an advantage

- Creative mindset with the ability to look for new solutions and way of doing things
- Excellent communication skills being able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical professionals
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with cultural awareness

The position will be based in Oslo. The working period would be between May and August 2027 with some flexibility depending on university schedules.
