Marketer
Job Summary
Drive product listing and shelf presence across pharmacies beauty stores supermarkets and other relevant retail outlets
Identify pitch and onboard new retail and distribution partners/stockists negotiating listing terms shelf placement and stocking volumes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with store owners/managers/pharmacists to secure and protect shelf space and favorable positioning.
Monitor stock levels and sell-through at retail points coordinating restocks and preventing stock-outs or overstocking.
Track and expand the brands retail footprint (number of active stockists/outlets).
Get the product listed optimized and actively selling on relevant online marketplaces and platforms (e.g. Jumia Konga Instagram/WhatsApp shops brand website) in addition to owned digital channels.
Manage online storefront content (product listings pricing reviews/ratings) to maximize visibility and conversion on each platform.
Coordinate with platform account managers/partners to run promotions secure placement and resolve listing or fulfillment issues.
Plan and execute terrestrial marketing activities in-store activations product sampling roadshows market storming pharmacy/clinic engagement and community or event-based marketing.
Build a calendar of on-ground activations aligned to key retail and seasonal periods tracking footfall engagement and resulting sales.
Gather on-ground market and competitor intelligence (pricing shelf presence consumer reactions) from the field to inform strategy.
Support the retail and terrestrial push with brand visibility efforts social media PR influencer/dermatologist partnerships that drive customers to ask for the product in-store and online.
Design onboarding touchpoints for new customers (in-store guidance post-purchase communication usage education) to drive early satisfaction whether they bought in-store or online.
Build a retention strategy replenishment reminders loyalty programs win-back campaigns that keeps customers returning to the same or another stockist/platform.
Segment and target customers based on purchase channel and behavior.
Track and report on retail footprint sell-through rates online platform performance and terrestrial activation ROI to the Founder/MD monthly.
Use field retail and platform data to continuously refine distribution and activation strategy.
Manage relationships with external partners/agencies (distributors platform managers activation/promotion agencies) where applicable.
Build out manage and coordinate a team of marketers (trade/field marketing e-commerce/digital content support) as the function scales.
Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Administration Mass Communication or a related field. An MBA or postgraduate marketing qualification is an advantage but not required. Relevant certifications are a plus.
58 years of progressive marketing experience ideally in FMCG beauty/personal care health/wellness or D2C consumer brands.
Proven track record of building brand visibility and acquisition funnels for a growing or new-to-market brand
Strong grasp of digital marketing (paid social performance/search marketing WhatsApp/SMS marketing
Data-driven mindset.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to translate marketing performance into a clear commercial narrative for the Founder/MD.
Comfortable working with a lean budget and limited brand equity and building processes/systems from scratch rather than inheriting them.
Solid understanding of the Nigerian/African consumer retail landscape (pharmacies beauty stores e-commerce) and skincare/beauty category dynamics.
Familiarity with the regulatory/claims environment for cosmetic and skincare products in Nigeria (e.g. NAFDAC) is an advantage.
Willingness to be hands-on where needed especially in the early stages before the team scales.
