Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager GI Distribution (B2B) to lead the overall performance of our GI Distribution Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth profitability operational excellence and customer satisfaction while providing strategic leadership across sales modern trade trade marketing planning distribution and category management.

This role requires a proven leader with strong P&L management experience deep FMCG distribution expertise and the ability to build high-performing teams while ensuring efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Business Leadership
  • Own the business units P&L delivering revenue profitability and growth targets.
  • Develop and execute business strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead national sales activities across General Trade and Modern Trade channels.
  • Drive market expansion route-to-market effectiveness and channel growth.
  • Ensure effective pricing strategies trade terms and promotional execution.
Operations & Distribution
  • Oversee warehousing logistics and distribution operations to achieve service excellence.
  • Improve delivery performance route productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs including OTIF dispatch accuracy and cost-to-serve.
  • Drive continuous improvement across warehouse and distribution operations.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to ensure product availability and inventory optimization.
  • Monitor stock health inventory ageing demand planning and allocation.
  • Ensure inventory controls and write-offs comply with company policies.
Financial & Governance
  • Drive disciplined trade spend management and return on investment.
  • Partner with Finance to improve cash collections and working capital.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement internal controls and company governance policies.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and commercial risks.
Leadership & People Management
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams across sales operations trade marketing planning and logistics.
  • Establish clear performance objectives and coaching plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability safety compliance and continuous improvement.


Requirements

Education
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Supply Chain Economics or a related discipline.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
Experience
  • 1018 years of progressive experience within FMCG or distribution businesses.
  • Proven experience managing multi-region sales and distribution operations.
  • Demonstrated success with full P&L ownership and cross-functional leadership.
  • Strong understanding of General Trade and Modern Trade operations.
