Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer CI/CD Platform Development to join the Development Tooling department within a large-scale banking environment.

The Development Tooling department is responsible for providing and maintaining the development ecosystem used by engineering teams across the Netherlands Germany France UK and India. As an IT-for-IT organization the team enables developers to deliver software through a compliant secure and efficient path to production.

The successful candidate will work within a DevOps environment focused on CI/CD automation Azure DevOps platforms pipeline development developer tooling automation and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational DevOps and CI/CD knowledge who enjoys automation problem-solving and working closely with development teams.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Development & Automation

• Design develop maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply CI/CD best practices including:
  • Pipeline automation
  • Build automation
  • Testing automation
  • Deployment workflows
  • Release management
• Develop reusable pipeline templates and automation solutions.
• Support engineering teams in adopting standardized delivery processes.
• Improve software delivery efficiency and reliability.

Azure DevOps Platform Support

• Work with Azure DevOps services and tooling.
• Configure and maintain:
  • Build pipelines
  • Release pipelines
  • Pipeline agents
  • Development workflows
• Support Azure DevOps platform capabilities and integrations.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and operational issues.
• Collaborate with platform teams to improve developer experience.

Application Build & Deployment Support

• Support application builds using technologies such as:
  • Java with Maven
  • Vue applications with NPM
  • Python applications with Poetry
• Understand application build processes and dependencies.
• Help development teams integrate applications into CI/CD workflows.
• Support automation across the software development lifecycle.

Containerization & DevOps Tooling

• Work with Docker-based development and deployment workflows.
• Support container-based build environments.
• Improve automation around development tooling.
• Contribute to platform engineering initiatives.

Developer Platform Enablement

• Support development teams by providing reliable development tooling.
• Work with DevOps teams responsible for:
  • Pipeline templates
  • Pipeline agents
  • Security scanning
  • Artifact repositories
  • Backlog management solutions
• Help developers follow compliant software delivery processes.
• Provide technical guidance and support.

GenAI & Continuous Improvement

• Explore and apply Generative AI tooling to improve development processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive activities.
• Contribute ideas to improve developer productivity and platform capabilities.
• Promote an automation-first mindset.

Working Environment

You will join the Development Tooling department responsible for enabling software development teams across multiple countries.

The department consists of multiple DevOps teams each focused on different areas of the software development lifecycle including:

• SOLO Software Logistics
• PIPE CI/CD Pipeline Automation
• ADOPT Azure DevOps Platform Team
• BB8 Backlog Management

Teams operate using a true DevOps model with ownership across:

• Development
• Operations
• Maintenance
• Administration
• Continuous improvement

Required Experience

• 3 years of IT-related professional experience.
• Experience working with DevOps practices and CI/CD concepts.
• Understanding of software delivery processes.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Mandatory Technical Skills

CI/CD & DevOps

• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles:
  • Pipeline stages
  • Build automation
  • Deployment workflows
  • CI/CD best practices
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of DevOps methodologies.

Programming Skills

Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language:

Preferred:

• Python
