Work Location

This is a hybrid position based in Mexico City Mexico. Team members are expected to work from our Mexico City office three days per week with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.

Job Summary

This position is on the team building StrongDM now part of Delineathe universal access management platform that secures and audits access to databases servers Kubernetes clusters and web applications. As a Software Engineer you will bring solid working knowledge of distributed systems and backend development in Go to StrongDMs proxy and control-plane platform working independently to devise solutions for problems of diverse scope while your work is reviewed at key milestones. You will report to the teams engineering manager.

What Youll Do:

• Design build and maintain highly concurrent distributed backend services in Go (Golang) that power StrongDMs proxy data plane (gateways and relays) and control-plane platform.

• Apply sound judgment to evaluate tradeoffs and adapt existing approaches when working through ambiguous or loosely defined technical problems.

• Collaborate with engineers product managers and DevOps/SRE partners to translate requirements into working well-tested code.

• Contribute to the secure handling of network protocols and cryptographic systems (TLS/mTLS credential brokering key management) within your area of ownership.

• Participate in code and design reviews holding a high bar for performance security and maintainability.

• Investigate and resolve technical issues in distributed multi-cloud production environments collaborating with teammates on the most complex or ambiguous cases.

What Youll Need:

• Bachelors degree in computer science software engineering or a related technical discipline plus 3 years of related experience.

• Working knowledge of Go (Golang) distributed systems and backend/network service development.

• Experience evaluating tradeoffs and adapting existing approaches to resolve technical issues based on limited information or precedent.

• Familiarity with API design (gRPC/Protobuf and/or RESTful APIs) and core distributed systems concepts.

• Experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider) and cloud-native deployment models.

Wed Love to See:

• Experience with more than one major cloud platform (AWS Azure or GCP).

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.

• Familiarity with secure protocols mTLS/PKI or secrets management tools (e.g. HashiCorp Vault AWS Secrets Manager Azure Key Vault).

• Exposure to proxying database SSH/RDP Kubernetes or HTTP traffic.

• Basic understanding of Zero Trust architecture just-in-time access models or policy-as-code (e.g. Cedar).
