Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to provide technical leadership and contribute to the architecture automation deployment and operation of cloud-based software products.
This is a highly technical role within an Agile engineering environment working closely with Development QA Operations Architecture and Product Management teams. The successful candidate will help define and implement scalable cloud infrastructure modern DevOps practices automated deployment processes and reliable CI/CD solutions.
The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) CI/CD Kubernetes Docker automation and cloud architecture along with the ability to solve complex infrastructure security and software delivery challenges.
- Participate in cloud architecture infrastructure design and software development initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with engineering teams to solve complex infrastructure security scalability and deployment challenges.
- Design build maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
- Work with AWS services including EC2 VPC S3 ELB RDS Route 53 WorkSpaces CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Design and implement infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins GitHub and related technologies.
- Automate application and infrastructure deployment processes to improve reliability consistency and delivery speed.
- Manage and support containerized environments using Docker Kubernetes ECS and related technologies.
- Build automated deployment and configuration processes using configuration management technologies such as Chef or Puppet.
- Manage cloud infrastructure administration including user provisioning permissions infrastructure components and workflow configurations.
- Deploy new application modules platform upgrades infrastructure changes and production fixes.
- Perform incremental testing of code infrastructure processes and deployments to reduce errors and improve delivery efficiency.
- Support infrastructure configuration optimization troubleshooting and documentation.
- Perform testing and validation activities within virtualized and cloud environments.
- Implement monitoring and operational visibility using services such as AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Use open-source technologies and tools to address specific infrastructure and engineering requirements.
- Develop customized automation and workflows using programming and scripting languages.
- Collaborate with Development QA Operations and Product teams within an Agile software development environment.
- Promote DevOps best practices automation reliability security and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
- 12 years of relevant DevOps Cloud Engineering Platform Engineering SRE or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure and architectures.
- Deep expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and production cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2 VPC S3 ELB RDS Route 53 CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) preferably Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong experience designing implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins and GitHub or comparable CI/CD and source control technologies.
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS ECS or similar container platforms.
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Chef Puppet or similar technologies.
- Strong knowledge of modern DevOps principles practices and automation strategies.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with scripting or programming languages for infrastructure and workflow automation.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure administration including identity permissions networking monitoring and security.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities across complex production environments.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Development QA Operations Product and Architecture teams.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience within PEO HCM SaaS IT or ITES environments.
- Experience working with both AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience designing or supporting large-scale highly available SaaS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security infrastructure optimization scalability and operational reliability.
- Experience providing technical leadership mentoring engineers and establishing DevOps best practices.
Required Skills:
