Manager Fund Accounting (Hedge Funds)

Purpose of the Job

Take ownership of your own portfolio of fund clients from day one and play a key role in delivering exceptional fund accounting this position youll keep complex transactions moving deepen your technical expertise in NAV production and fund accounting and ensure critical regulatory and client deadlines are met with confidence and accuracy.

Working alongside some of the most respected professionals in the industry youll oversee the preparation and review of fund accounting deliverables NAV calculations investor reporting and financial information across a diverse client portfolio. Youll use industry-leading platforms including PFS Paxus to manage trade processing pricing corporate actions investor dealing and reporting while ensuring robust controls and high-quality output throughout.

Beyond client delivery youll lead and support a team of fund accountants providing coaching technical guidance and mentorship to help them thrive. Youll drive efficiency through automation promote operational excellence and ensure services are delivered in line with established policies procedures and controls. Main Responsibilities 

• Own and manage a portfolio of fund clients building trusted relationships with investment managers administrators auditors custodians and other key stakeholders.
• Lead the delivery of NAV calculations fund accounting outputs and investor reporting ensuring accuracy quality and timely completion of all client deliverables.
• Use PFS Paxus and other industry-leading tools to oversee trade processing pricing corporate actions cash movements investor dealing and fund reporting.
• Drive operational excellence by reviewing reconciliations financial reporting and regulatory filings ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Partner closely with clients to understand their needs resolve complex queries and provide an exceptional service experience.
• Take ownership of client deadlines and delivery calendars ensuring work is prioritised effectively and completed to the highest standard.
• Mentor develop and support a team of fund accounting professionals providing technical guidance coaching and constructive feedback.
• Lead audit and year-end processes working collaboratively with auditors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely completion.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes enhance automation and increase efficiency across fund accounting operations.
• Act as the first point of escalation for client and operational matters proactively identifying risks and driving effective solutions.
• Contribute to the commercial success of the business by identifying opportunities to expand services strengthen client relationships and support sustainable growth.

Qualifications :

Knowledge skills and experience

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA ACA or equivalent); postgraduate qualification in Finance Accounting Business or a related field is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of CIS fund accounting fund administration NAV production and financial reporting within the financial services industry.
• Experience managing fund accounting deliverables including NAV calculations investor allocations accruals fund expenses management and performance fee calculations and waterfall calculations where applicable.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in fund accounting platforms such as PFS Paxus and strong Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis reporting and reconciliations.
• Experience reviewing financial statements management accounts tax computations and statutory returns.
• Ability to manage client portfolios coordinate multiple priorities and ensure delivery against agreed deadlines and service standards.
• Experience leading coaching or supervising team members including workload planning performance management and professional development.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients auditors custodians administrators and internal teams.
• Knowledge of risk management operational controls compliance requirements and governance practices within a regulated environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and make sound evidence-based decisions.
• Excellent communication organisational and relationship-management skills with the ability to build effective partnerships drive service excellence and support business growth.
