Proposal Engineer – Energy Solutions
Job Summary
Our client is an established engineering and energy solutions company in Malta providing technical solutions and services within the power and energy sector.
Our client is looking for an experienced Proposal Engineer to join the On-Site Energy department.
The role will be responsible for preparing accurate technical and commercial quotations and tender submissions for generator sets energy systems spare parts overhauls installations testing and commissioning.
This position requires strong technical knowledge commercial awareness attention to detail and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments and suppliers.
- Review customer enquiries technical specifications drawings bills of quantities and tender documents.
- Prepare complete and accurate technical and commercial quotations.
- Obtain and compare prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Calculate equipment labour transport installation and commissioning costs.
- Prepare scopes of work assumptions exclusions delivery periods payment terms and warranty details.
- Coordinate with Sales Engineering Purchasing Logistics and Operations to ensure accurate and timely proposals.
- Manage quotation and tender deadlines effectively.
- Respond to customer clarifications and prepare quotation revisions when required.
- Maintain accurate proposal and quotation trackers.
- Support the handover of awarded projects to the relevant operational teams.
- Ensure all proposals are commercially competitive while meeting technical and customer requirements.
- Technical qualification in Mechanical Electrical Industrial Energy Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in proposals estimating tendering or technical sales.
- Hands-on experience preparing technical and commercial quotations is essential.
- Experience within power generation generator sets engines energy systems or industrial equipment is considered an advantage.
- Strong ability to understand technical specifications and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Good commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Full-time employment with a Monday to Friday working schedule.
