Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Client Accounting to lead its accounting function within a dynamic Corporate Service Provider environment.

The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate financial statements across a diverse client portfolio ensuring compliance with IFRS GAPSME GAAP local tax regulations and statutory requirements.

The role will also focus on managing the accounting team improving internal processes maintaining strong client relationships and collaborating with other departments to provide a seamless service.

Location: On-site - Floriana

Responsibilities:

As a Head of Client Accounting your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead mentor and manage a team of Accounts Managers Senior Accounting Officers and Accounting Officers.

  • Allocate resources and manage workloads to ensure all client and internal deadlines are met.

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and reconciliations for a varied client portfolio.

  • Manage client audits and act as the main point of contact for external auditors.

  • Oversee payroll processing VAT compliance and related statutory obligations where applicable.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS GAAP GAPSME local tax regulations and statutory filing requirements.

  • Develop and improve internal controls procedures and accounting processes.

  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients and provide tailored financial solutions.

  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and introduce clients to additional services.

  • Collaborate with the Tax Audit Legal and Company Secretarial departments.

  • Lead process automation and digital transformation initiatives within the department.

  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards tax legislation and industry regulations.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting ACCA qualification or an equivalent professional certification.

  • Extensive senior-level accounting experience within a Corporate Service Provider or professional services environment.

  • Proven experience leading and managing an accounting team.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS GAAP GAPSME tax compliance VAT and statutory reporting.

  • Experience managing client portfolios financial statements audits and accounting operations.

  • Strong client relationship communication and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities resources and strict deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions.
