Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified or nearly qualified Accountant to join our clients team full-time.
Reporting to the Managing Director you will manage day-to-day finance operations management reporting planning compliance and process improvements.
The ideal candidate is commercially minded detail-oriented and able to work independently with a hands-on approach.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities including processing supplier invoices and preparing payments for approval.
- Take responsibility for month-end accounting procedures including journal entries and reconciliation of bank supplier and customer accounts.
- Maintain the accounting system and ensure financial records master data and reporting information remain accurate and up to date.
- Prepare monthly management accounts including the income statement balance sheet and other relevant financial reports.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT corporate tax and other statutory returns.
- Oversee payroll processing ensuring salaries statutory deductions and related requirements are handled accurately and on time.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process including monitoring and analysing variances.
- Monitor cash flow and contribute to effective treasury and working capital management.
- Coordinate the annual external audit including preparing documentation managing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure accounting activities are carried out in line with relevant accounting standards tax regulations and internal procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes controls and financial procedures.
- Provide financial support to the Managing Director and assist with additional finance-related tasks as required.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant or currently in the final stage of ACCA qualification.
- 35 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting position.
- Strong written and verbal English with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and professionally.
- Good communication problem-solving and influencing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
- Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of new responsibilities when required.
