Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified or nearly qualified Accountant to join our clients team full-time.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will manage day-to-day finance operations management reporting planning compliance and process improvements.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded detail-oriented and able to work independently with a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting activities including processing supplier invoices and preparing payments for approval.
  • Take responsibility for month-end accounting procedures including journal entries and reconciliation of bank supplier and customer accounts.
  • Maintain the accounting system and ensure financial records master data and reporting information remain accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including the income statement balance sheet and other relevant financial reports.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT corporate tax and other statutory returns.
  • Oversee payroll processing ensuring salaries statutory deductions and related requirements are handled accurately and on time.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process including monitoring and analysing variances.
  • Monitor cash flow and contribute to effective treasury and working capital management.
  • Coordinate the annual external audit including preparing documentation managing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Ensure accounting activities are carried out in line with relevant accounting standards tax regulations and internal procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes controls and financial procedures.
  • Provide financial support to the Managing Director and assist with additional finance-related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant or currently in the final stage of ACCA qualification.
  • 35 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting position.
  • Strong written and verbal English with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and professionally.
  • Good communication problem-solving and influencing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
  • Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of new responsibilities when required.
