Job Summary

The role is responsible for leading the design and delivery of technology solutions within Cards IT that align with the organizations enterprise architecture strategy and standards. It ensures that all solutions are robust scalable secure and cost-effective while meeting business requirements and supporting digital transformation initiatives. In addition the role drives the successful delivery of core projects where necessary providing technical leadership and oversight to ensure timely high-quality outcomes. The position also guides solution architects promotes architectural compliance and collaborates with stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable IT solutions within the defined enterprise architecture framework.

  • Strong knowledge of card systems and transaction flows with expertise in operations processing reconciliation connectivity and certification plus experience across retail banking and core systems such as loans LOS ATMs and core banking platforms.
  • Experience with core banking and card system integrations including third-party service providers and payment networks.
  • Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into clear comprehensive solution designs and functional specifications ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and Cards domain needs.
Strong stakeholder management skills across business technology vendors and operations.

4. Cost Optimization & Technology Lifecycle Management

  • Experience in leading solutions across cards and financial services including issuing authorization settlement lifecycle disputes tokenization fraud controls as well as retail banking systems such as loans LOS ATMs and core banking.
  • Running Architecture Review Boards/design gates; enforcing standards across multiple squads.
  • Deep experience with API-led integration (REST/GraphQL) event-driven patterns (Kafka/RabbitMQ) microservices service mesh container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
  • Performance engineering (TPS/latency tuning) resilience patterns (circuit breakers retries) HA/DR design with RTO/RPO targets.
  • Observability (logs/metrics/traces) capacity planning and SRE/operability considerations.


Authority to approve high-level and detailed solution designs for Cards IT projects ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture standards and security requirements.


Authority to decide on technology components integration patterns and vendor technical solutions within the Cards IT domain subject to alignment with enterprise architecture and budget constraints.

Finalized business requirements for FSD preparation. Impact & Risk Analysis Conduct Impact & Risk Analysis studies Develop list of IT system changes (existing and/or new) needed including the functional flow between the systems Ensure the functional requirement specifications include both system and manual processes to mitigate the risk factor of the project. Highlight and share the impact and key risk to business. Functional Specifications Development Review the documentation of Functional specifications is complete with proper analysis to avoid change requests and able to be understood by Developer / Vendor. Assist to conduct FSD walk-through Interface with all areas affected by the project Participate in project meetings and provide ongoing clarity and guidance on functional solution design to technical delivery team Delivery of high-quality Functional Requirement Specs to Technical team within the agreed timelines. Ensure the changes or requirements are clearly communicated to the stakeholders. Ability to derive specifications to map requirements from any source system to any destination system System Testing Prepare test cases and/or test Scripts Walk-through testing scope and expectations with business users Manage the UAT process to ensure end-to-end testing is covered to avoid production issues.
