Job Summary

Position : Senior Instrument Engineer

Industry : Oil & Gas

Employment Type : Contract (1 year)

Location : Kuala Lumpur / Sarawak

Job Scope(s):

  • Develop commissioning plans and procedures for electrical and instrumentation systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality procedures including document control change control materials control field inspection and testing procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate the commissioning team during commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure compliance with approved procedures project specifications and safety requirements.
  • Prepare review and compile all required turnover documentation for formal handover and custody transfer to the Operations team.
  • Coordinate with engineering construction and operations teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and instrumentation standards design codes project specifications and oil and gas industry construction practices.

Requirement(s):

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience including at least 5 years in a similar role or capacity.
  • Relevant engineering and commissioning experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Good knowledge of international electrical and instrumentation standards applicable design codes and industry practices.
  • Proven competency in testing and commissioning electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas construction practices project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Must be registered as a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
  • Strong leadership coordination and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead commissioning teams and work effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
