Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager to lead and manage all Mechanical and Electrical aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves ensuring the successful delivery of M&E systems adhering to project timelines budgets and quality standards within the Architecture Building and Construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning design review procurement installation testing and commissioning of all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems including HVAC plumbing electrical distribution fire protection ELV and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules budgets and resource plans specific to M&E works ensuring adherence to project milestones and cost controls.
- Oversee the tender process for M&E packages including scope definition contractor selection and contract administration ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate M&E works with architectural structural and civil disciplines facilitating BIM/CAD coordination and resolving inter-disciplinary clashes proactively.
- Implement robust quality assurance and quality control procedures for M&E installations conducting regular site inspections and ensuring compliance with local building codes safety regulations and international standards (e.g. ASHRAE NFPA IEE).
- Manage project risks identify potential issues related to M&E systems and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Prepare detailed progress reports conduct regular stakeholder meetings and maintain effective communication with clients consultants contractors and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure smooth handover of M&E systems including documentation as-built drawings O&M manuals and client training.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in M&E project management within the Architecture Building or Construction industry with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
- Strong technical expertise in the design installation testing and commissioning of various M&E systems including HVAC plumbing electrical power distribution fire suppression security and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g. Primavera P6 Microsoft Project) and familiarity with BIM/CAD software for coordination and clash detection.
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes safety regulations and relevant international M&E standards (e.g. ASHRAE NFPA BS IEC).
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable; professional engineering registration (e.g. PE CEng) is a significant advantage.
- Excellent leadership communication negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets schedules quality and risks effectively.
