The Enterprise Architecture Foundations team acts as the backbone of the architecture function at Roche. We focus on community engagement modern ways of working and capability enablement. As Roche Digital Technology (RDT) shifts to a Federated by Design model our success relies entirely on transitioning from static architecture documents to dynamic data-driven insights.

To achieve our 2026 strategic goals we need a visionary architect to build a resilient fully integrated toolchain ecosystem that drives data-driven portfolio management and landscape consolidation.

The Role: What You Will Do

As the Solution Architect for the Integrated Toolchain you will serve as the principal technical mind behind our core corporate platforms: ArchiMEDES (SAP LeanIX) ArchiSense (our custom AI Co-Pilot) and ITONICS (Innovation Management). You will bridge the gap between architectural data and strategic execution.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Drive EAM Tooling Excellence: Serve as the technical owner for ArchiMEDES (SAP LeanIX). You will configure core data models and drive advanced automated integrations with ServiceNow and cloud discovery tools to deliver a real-time comprehensive view of our IT landscape.

• Advance AI-Driven Architecture: Lead the technical scaling of ArchiSense maturing it from a proof-of-concept into a production-grade AI Co-Pilot. You will build custom AI agents to automate queries execute tasks and streamline technology standard navigation.

• Champion Data Democratization: Design extract and publish source-system-oriented data products directly into the Roche DataOne (Snowflake) environment and Data Marketplace (Collibra) to enable intuitive self-service data consumption for downstream analytics.

• Lead Technology Foresight Integration: Maintain technical ownership and oversee the integration of the ITONICS platform to effectively map external market trends and emerging technology phases.

• Enable Data-Driven Portfolio Management: Architect a seamless toolchain that bridges corporate strategy and engineering execution providing clear transparent insights into dependencies technical debt and redundancies for senior leadership.

• Embed Decisions Over Documents Practices: Partner with Architecture Practice Leads to embed practical governance guardrails directly into the tooling ecosystem reducing administrative friction for engineering teams.

Who You Are

Education & Experience

• You hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or IT.

• You bring 5-7 years of applied experience in solution architecture integration engineering or platform development within complex matrixed global organizations.

Technical Skills & Expertise

• Python for Data & AI: Proficient in Python for developing data extraction pipelines and orchestrating custom AI workflows (equivalent open-source or advanced project experience is highly valued).

• Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM): Hands-on experience configuring and adapting core data models within EAM platforms specifically SAP LeanIX.

• Modern AI & Emerging Tech: Practical familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures. Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or agentic tool-calling is a major plus.

• Integration & API Architecture: Advanced understanding of API-driven integrations to connect disparate enterprise systems (e.g. ServiceNow cloud infrastructure) into automated pipelines.

• Data Modeling & Cloud Platforms: Ability to design unified data models and publish high-quality data products into cloud environments like Snowflake for executive-level reporting.
