Engineering Manager
Job Summary
About The Role:
The Engineering Manager will oversee the design and drafting functions for solar and renewable energy projects ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables. The role involves managing a mix of junior and senior technical staff coordinating EPC project design activities and ensuring compliance with technical standards client requirements and renewable energy regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead manage and develop a team of drafters design leads and drafting managers.
- Allocate and prioritise workload across team members to ensure timely project delivery.
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance technical competency and performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and establish KPIs aligned with project and departmental objectives.
2. Project Design Oversight
- Review and supervise all engineering designs and drawings for solar PV and renewable energy systems.
- Ensure all designs comply with project specifications EPC standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve final design packages prior to submission to clients or handover to construction teams
3. Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Project Procurement and Contracts teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project timelines.
- Act as the main point of contact for technical queries from clients contractors and internal teams.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on design progress risks and technical issues.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Enforce engineering standards renewable energy best practices and design guidelines.
- Conduct design reviews technical audits and risk assessments to ensure quality and compliance.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements in design workflows and documentation.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest renewable energy technologies design tools and EPC methodologies.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Civil or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- At least 8 years of relevant engineering experience including supervision of design teams.
- Experience managing a mix of junior and senior staff (drafters leads or managers).
- Hands-on experience with solar or renewable energy EPC projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in engineering and design tools including:
- AutoCAD
- Helioscope
- PVSyst
- Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Possession of CGPV certification (preferred/added advantage).

Up to MYR 15000
