Job Summary
Our client an international financial institution is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their this role you will provide day-to-day on-site support for internal application teams while managing and optimizing complex database environments.
As anSQL DBAyou will
- AdministerMicrosoft SQL Server 19 instances on Windows Server with VMware virtualization.
- Provideday-to-day on-site support for internal application teams.
- Supportapplication releases and implementchanges
- Monitor database activity optimizeperformance and planfor forecasted resource needs.
- Developand maintaindatabase procedures configure standards and maintain relevant documentation.
- Participatein an on-call rotation supporting Oracle MongoDB MySQL PostgreSQL MSSQL and Sybase technologies.
Qualifications
What would make you a fit for the role:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA).
- Hands-on experience administering SQL Server Always On Availability Groups in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Windows-based environments including server administration and integration with SQL Server.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting performance tuning and ensuring database reliability security and integrity.
- Experience with automation and scripting and working within IT Service Management (ITSM) tools aligned to an ITIL framework.
- Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to collaborate effectively and ideally exposure to financial services environments and/or other database technologies (e.g. MongoDB MySQL PostgreSQL Sybase).
