Database Administrator

Our client a leading Software Information and Communication Technologies company operates internationally (Athens Brussels Luxembourg Copenhagen Stockholm London Nicosia Hong-Kong Valetta etc). Our client is a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions multinational corporations public administrations and multinational companies research and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Database Administrator in English to offer his/her services as an expert remotely (within EU). In the context of the first assignment the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team.

Requirements

• University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of at least 10 years;
• Minimum 6 years in modelling tools (e.g. UML);
• Minimum 5 years of experience with RDBMS;
• Experience in database design and model (Oracle PostgreSQL MsSQL);
• Experience in Database Administration Tuning Management and Security;
• Excellent knowledge of application development environments;
• Experience in database backup and restore strategy using full database backup/restore and transaction log backup/restore;
• Experience in active/active and active/passive clustering;
• Experience with high-availability strategies (includes log shipping DB mirroring replication and SRDF) and experience in Disaster Recovery tests;
• Experience in database monitoring troubleshooting performance tuning maintenance and auditing configuration;
• Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications;
• Experience in writing technical documentation;
• Understanding of Active Directory in the context of database security and windows scripting is preferred;
• Certification in Postgres will be an asset;
• Excellent command of the English language.
