Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda Kenya Tanzania Rwanda and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client we are looking for a competent skilled and experienced Customer Service Operations Officer Transit Operations to work in Kenya.
Job Purpose
This position will be responsible for managing transit shipments through the Port of Mombasa with a primary focus on cargo destined for Uganda while also supporting movements into Rwanda South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Key Responsibilities
1. Transit Operations Management
Manage end-to-end customer service for transit shipments through the Port of Mombasa.
Coordinate customs clearance transport planning and cargo movement into Uganda Rwanda South Sudan and the DRC.
Provide customers with timely shipment updates and proactive communication.
2. Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with transporters customs authorities shipping lines border agencies and internal teams to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Monitor shipment milestones and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize delays.
3. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with transit procedures customs regulations and company SOPs.
Maintain accurate operational records and prepare customer reports where required.
4. Continuous Improvement
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
5. Other Duties
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Clearing & Forwarding or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 35 years experience in freight forwarding/clearing and forwarding operations.
Demonstrable experience managing transit cargo through Mombasa into Uganda is essential.
Good understanding of transit procedures for Uganda Rwanda South Sudan and the DRC.
Knowledge of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Kenya TradeNet and regional transit documentation is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of customs clearance and transit documentation processes.
Familiarity with regional transit corridors.
