JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department to ensure efficient daily operations. This role supports recruitment onboarding personnel records compliance and employee communications while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The HR Assistant serves as a first point of contact for employees and applicants and ensures consistent application of HR procedures and timelines. The essential functionsas shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the hiring process by posting vacancies scheduling interviews and verifying credentials.
Manage new employee onboarding including collection of all employment paperwork tracking pre-employment requirements processing paperwork and providing timely communication to new hires.
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files in HRIS in accordance with district policy and legal requirements.
Serve as a point of contact for employees by responding to routine HR inquiries and directing complex issues to the appropriate staff.
Coordinate and manage ongoing projects under the direction of department leadership.
Compile and integrate data from multiple sources including department-specific systems to produce professional reports documents and presentations.
Assist with data entry and record retention requirements.
All candidates offered a position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check and a child and adult abuse registry check. Certain positions may require fingerprinting a drug and alcohol test a physical capacity test and/or a motor vehicle record check.
