Position Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Location: Columbia MO Employment Type: Contract / Travel Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM On-Call: Required (Weeknights & Weekends)
Job Summary: Support physicians in minimally invasive image-guided procedures including Neuro IR and GI embolization cases while ensuring patient safety sterile technique and high-quality imaging support in both routine and emergency settings.
Responsibilities:
Assist in interventional radiology procedures (routine and emergency)
Maintain sterile field and infection control protocols
Review patient history imaging orders allergies and NPO status
Educate patients on procedure risks and post-care instructions
Operate imaging equipment for high-quality diagnostic guidance
Administer contrast under radiologist supervision (if applicable)
Monitor patient vitals and respond to adverse reactions
Manage procedural supplies medications and equipment readiness
Maintain documentation in EMR and PACS systems
Follow radiation safety and ALARA standards
Collaborate with radiologists nurses and care teams
Provide BLS-level emergency support when needed
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience required
Required experience in Neuro IR and GI embolization
ARRT (R) required OR advanced certification (VI CV CI) or RCIS
Strong sterile technique and radiation safety knowledge
Experience in high-acuity procedural environments required
Ability to work in emergency and fast-paced settings
Preferred:
Advanced vascular and neurointerventional experience
Strong EMR and PACS documentation skills
Excellent patient communication skills
