Key Responsibilities:
Perform core investment accounting activities including data validation reconciliations variance analysis and subledger balancing to support month-end close.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within Protectives investment accounting system (PAM) and related reporting tools.
Support GAAP and Statutory financial reporting including quarterly filings and internal management reporting deliverables.
Partner with cross-functional teams across accounting investment operations asset management and accounting policy to resolve issues and maintain accurate financial data.
Contribute to the onboarding and integration of new investment assets ensuring timely and accurate system setup and reporting alignment.
Assist in implementing new accounting standards and maintaining compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements automation and increased efficiency within investment accounting workflows.
Maintain and enhance investment-related data used for reporting including transactions positions and performance metrics.
Participate in system testing enhancements and special projects including support for PAM administration activities.
Create and maintain process documentation and training materials to support consistency and scalability across the team.
Support ad hoc analyses reporting requests and cross-training efforts to improve team flexibility and overall performance.
Skills Abilities and Knowledge Required:
Experience with investment accounting or financial instruments including fixed income derivatives and structured products.
Understanding of investment accounting processes and securities accounting concepts.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory accounting with insurance industry exposure preferred.
Experience supporting GAAP and regulatory financial reporting processes.
Familiarity with investment accounting systems such as Protective Accounting Manager (PAM) or similar platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables lookups and data analysis.
Experience working with large complex data sets and performing reconciliations.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadlinedriven environment.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
Strong organizational timemanagement and communication skills.
Ability to take ownership of work and follow complex projects through to completion.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters of Science in Accounting from an accredited university.
3 years of accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Technically proficient with accounting systems and an understanding of system and process flows.
Ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams inside and outside the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with investments or investment accounting.
Exposure to insurance industry accounting including Statutory reporting.
Experience with PAM or a similar investment accounting system.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or progress toward CPA.
Experience supporting system implementations process improvements or automation initiatives.

Protectives targeted compensation for this position is $78000 - $90000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to job location skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protectives total compensation package for employees. This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
