Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Pulmonary Unit within a Med-Surgical setting. This unit cares for adult patients with a variety of respiratory and pulmonary conditions in a high-acuity fast-paced environment.
The RN will be responsible for delivering direct patient care performing clinical assessments and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Unit Details
45-bed Med-Surg Pulmonary Unit
High-acuity respiratory patient population
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 7:1
Team-based collaborative care model
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions treatments and medications
Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards
Utilize hospital resources efficiently
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (within the last 2 years)
Active Florida RN License or Compact RN License
Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days
Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
BLS (AHA) certification required prior to start
NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience in pulmonary or Med-Surg nursing
Candidate Requirements
Must reside within a commutable distance of the facility
In-person interview required prior to offer (may include shadowing and facility tour)
Must be comfortable managing a 7:1 patient ratio
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong background in Med-Surg and/or pulmonary care
Ability to work independently in a high-acuity setting
Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
