With a strong reputation across major rail infrastructure sector we are now looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team and play a key role in securing and delivering landmark projects across the country.

This is an opportunity to work within a high-performing pre-contracts team on large-scale civil infrastructure tenders where you will be contributing to projects from concept through to award.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager the Senior Estimator will lead and coordinate estimating activities across major infrastructure bids ensuring competitive accurate and commercially sound submissions.

You will work closely with engineering construction procurement and commercial teams to develop robust pricing strategies and methodologies for complex projects across the rail infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end estimating activities for major civil infrastructure tenders
• Prepare detailed first-principles estimates cost plans and pricing strategies
• Analyse drawings specifications methodologies and contractual requirements
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing submissions
• Identify project risks opportunities and value engineering initiatives
• Develop construction methodologies and staging assumptions in collaboration with delivery teams
• Participate in tender reviews adjudications and client presentations
• Maintain estimating databases benchmarks and cost histories
• Mentor and support junior estimators within the team

About You

To succeed in this role you will bring:

• Extensive estimating experience within major civil infrastructure projects
• Strong background across large-scale projects such as rail transport roads bridges or utilities
• Proven capability preparing complex multi-disciplinary tenders in a major projects environment
• High-level understanding of construction methodologies productivity rates and commercial drivers
• Experience with first-principles estimating and estimating software platforms
• Strong analytical negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tenders
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering Construction Management Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
