Toyotas Systems and Electronics Planning 4 Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to design and apply electrical components across multiple vehicle and mobility platforms including packaging ECUs & sensors routing wire harnesses and developing related components to ensure quality performance cost and timing requirements are met for each electronics system.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager the person in this role will support the Systems and Electronics Planning 4 departments objective of designing and applying electrical components across multiple vehicle and mobility platforms.
What Youll Be Doing
Collaborate with related stakeholders (internal and external) in cross-functional teams to design packaging structure prepare drawings plan and manage schedule for complex engineering problems.
Join engage and lead wire harness part development to meet targets for cost mass performance and schedule with high quality efficiency and an optimization mindset from project start through start of production.
Excellent clear and frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders (management team project leaders manufacturing suppliers other design departments TMC Japan etc.).
Develop 3D design data and create 2D drawings using CATIA V5 and CR5000.
Use the TBP (Toyota Business Practice) process to break down problems propose solutions and contribute to obeya (large room) meetings with other commodity engineers WH supplier engineers and vehicle assembly members.
Participate in team activities to resolve development problems. Need to be able to work with design engineers and suppliers to identify the problem root cause clearly present the results of findings to the leader and take action for resolution.
What You Bring

- Bachelors degree that provides a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field (Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering also considered)
- 3 years of experience where youve contributed to vehicle development activities ideally supporting a major program or key milestone
- 2 years of experience working collaboratively with suppliers to develop and deliver engineering solutions
- Proven understanding of vehicle development and manufacturing processes demonstrated through hands-on project experience
- Proficiency in CATIA for 3D modeling and drawing creation with demonstrated ownership of component or system design
- Strong communication and collaboration skills that enable you to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams

- Additional experience across full vehicle development cycles (e.g. AS K4 SE GENZU CV 1A MPT QCS) including major or minor model changes
- Experience leading or guiding variable workforce or Design-In engineers helping drive team success and capability development
- Expertise in wire harness design or manufacturing processes including routing and specification development using CR5000
- Experience designing or supporting ADAS-related systems such as panoramic view monitors sonar blind spot monitoring or headlamp ECUs
- Proven ability to collaborate and negotiate with cross-functional teams including CALTY and other design groups
- Completion of TBP panel or demonstrated advanced problem-solving capability using Toyota methodologies
- Japanese language capability that enhances collaboration with global teams
