Who are we looking for
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Regulatory Manager Upstream to lead regulatory strategy and client advisory support for complex environmental remediation and reclamation projects.
This role will play a key part in shaping regulatory engagement managing risk and supporting long-term site closure and reclamation strategies. The position offers a blend of technical leadership client-facing work and contribution to business growth.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Serve as a regulatory lead for environmental remediation and reclamation projects at upstream oil and gas sites
- Advise clients on permitting compliance strategy and regulatory risk
- Lead regulatory reviews audits corrective action programs and closure planning
- Interface directly with regulatory agencies at the county state and federal level
- Monitor regulatory trends and support proactive client strategy
- Support proposals client development and strategic growth initiatives
- Mentor and support development of technical staff
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
- State-level environmental regulations (California experience preferred)
- Federal regulatory frameworks such as CERCLA RCRA and Clean Water Act
- Pipeline and/or oil well-related permitting and reclamation
- Coordination with agencies such as CalGEM EPA SWRCB RWQCB BLM or comparable regulatory bodies
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelors degree in engineering geology environmental science or related field
- 12 years ofregulatory experience related to legacy or active mine sites
- Experience supporting remediation reclamation and enforcement negotiations
- Strong understanding of permitting compliance and regulatory strategy
- Excellent technical writing and executive communication skills
- Willingness to travel

Salary Range: $94000-$156 000 based on location and experience
