Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
Must be licensed in the State of New Hampshire bi-annually and registered by the National Board Certification of Occupational Therapy every three years.
Valid drivers license and own transportation
Specific Core Function:
Evaluate students needs; develop monitor and implement therapy programs; and provide consultative services to the school personnel.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Identify sensory and gross and fine motor delays by evaluating all students referred by school personnel other disciplines and parents in accordance with school district special education policies and procedures
Use standardized and non-standardized tests to screen or evaluate students in the areas of motor development (gross and fine motor) sensory perception-integration activities of daily living neuro-development (muscle strength/tone range of motion postural reflexes) and the need for adaptive devices
Prepare a written report and share results of all assessments with parents teachers administrators etc.
Consult with teachers parents administrators medical personnel agencies and other persons concerned with the educational social physical emotional and vocational needs of each student with a sensory or motor delay
Serve as case manager and member of Individual Education Plan Team
Provide remedial instruction to students individually in small groups or in inclusive classrooms
Prepare and submit to parents school personnel and other agencies the progress of students enrolled
Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is an affiliated (MEA) position under the Teacher Association negotiated contract following the school calendar with additional workshop job is not eligible for sponsorship.
