We are currently seeking a Corporate Law Clerk to join our team as an independent contractor.
What the role entails
Assisting Caravel lawyers in delivering corporate legal services to clients across Ontario and/or Alberta and/or British Columbia
Supporting Caravel lawyers with drafting transaction documents and completing financings mergers and acquisitions
Performing Corporate Law Clerk duties including incorporations minute book maintenance resolution preparation searches and registrations transaction and financing assistance and public company filings
Occasional fractional in-house corporate law clerk opportunities
The flexibility to set your own schedule and take on other legal work as desired
What we are looking for
Minimum of 7years of related experience
If based in Ontario: Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate (or equivalent)
If based in Alberta or British Columbia: Paralegal Diploma (or equivalent)
Previous experience with managing corporate records minute books drafting resolutions and related corporate documents
Contract management or in-house experience is an asset
Entrepreneurial proactive and self-starting team player driven by the opportunities associated with a non-rigid job structure
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with MS Office and corporate law and entity management software
Ability to work independently with appropriate judgment and discretion
Professional demeanour and excellent communication
