Location: Urbandale IA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months with potential for full-time conversion)
Pay Rate: $24.00 an hour
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Work Environment: Hybrid 23 days/week onsite (minimum 6 days/month)
Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to join their finance operations team. This role will focus on collecting past due invoices supporting reporting and analysis efforts and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring timely payment activity.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in accounts receivable billing collections or finance operations who enjoys working in a collaborative fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact clients regarding past due invoices and outstanding balances
• Assist with collections activities while maintaining positive client relationships
• Analyze aging reports and identify trends risks and root causes of non-payment
• Collaborate with Cash Applications and offshore Collections teams
• Support reporting documentation and process improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies and SOX procedures
• Provide feedback and guidance to offshore team members
• Work cross-functionally with internal departments to improve efficiency and resolve account issues

Qualifications

• 13 years of Accounts Receivable Collections Billing Finance or related experience
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• Experience with reporting and project-based work
• Experience working with aging reports reconciliations or client account analysis
