Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a long-term assignment in Cleveland Ohio. The ideal candidate will perform and interpret laboratory testing at all complexity levels while maintaining compliance with laboratory quality regulatory and safety standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory testing and interpret results accurately across multiple complexity levels
Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling processing analysis reporting and documentation
Correlate abnormal laboratory findings with pathological conditions and determine the need for additional testing
Monitor and verify quality controls calibrations and maintenance procedures
Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations and laboratory quality assurance standards
Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and implement corrective actions when necessary
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
Maintain accurate and legible laboratory documentation and records
Participate in proficiency testing and competency assessments
Communicate laboratory results and specimen requirements to authorized personnel
Support training and education activities for laboratory staff and students as needed
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in Chemical Biological Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required OR
Must meet CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel
Certifications
Medical Technologist (MT) certification or certification eligibility preferred through ASCP or AMT
Skills & Qualifications
Strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong understanding of laboratory quality control and regulatory standards
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a high-volume fast-paced clinical environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform detailed visual work including microscope use
Ability to distinguish color variations accurately
Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for specimen handling and equipment operation
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed
Exposure to laboratory chemicals biohazards and other clinical materials may occur
