Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Possess andmaintainbroad and in-depth knowledge of principles practices procedures and standards related to electrical instrumentation controls and automation systems.
  • Overall success and coordination of the electrical scope on technical projects.
  • Ensure electrical team is coordinating and communicating with all project stakeholders team members and follows department procedures and standards.
  • Responsible for providing direction and making final decisions within the electrical scope on technical projects.
  • Support forinitialdesign on projects including overallobjectiveand scopesupportingand input to developing overall power system design.
  • Support for all electrical deliverables development on instrument lists I/O lists loop and wiring diagrams incorporating all information from vendor documents development of ETAP/SLD and power system model physical layout design circuit/conduit schedules support equipment specification support RFQ packages develop MTOs contractor scope of work.
  • Responsible for designing maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and control systems with a demonstrated willingness to program PLCs HMIs and related automation platforms.
  • Supporting commissioning activities both at the shop and onsite to validate site acceptance.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • S. in Engineering. ABET accredited college preferred
    • PE license strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
    • 7 years minimum premised on extensive varied progressive experience in applicable field.

    PAY: 120-150K/YR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

    • Candemonstratea working knowledge ofreal-worldengineering topics that fall within theengineersdiscipline to the extent that the engineer can competentlyparticipatein a technical discussion with other SMEs within that discipline.
    • Mentors and supervises engineering staff ()
    • Provides training presentations within the engineers discipline to educate others within the company on topics related to the discipline.
    • Able to run complex engineering calculations applicable to engineering and technical solutions by using existing or developing tools methodsapproachesand tactics in new ways or bymodifyingand improving them.
    • Presents engineering research findings solutions and recommendations to leadership
    • Works independently under limited direction and guidance
    • Independently evaluatesdeterminesand applies standard engineering techniques and approaches using independent judgement
    • Manage multi-disciplined engineering team including engineering contractorsand production team members.
    • Independently performs all tasks necessary to completeprimarydesign of engineering work.
    • Assistanceis provided for challenging or difficultassignmentsbutpossessesthe ability and judgement to investigate and recommend alternative approaches forassignmentthat do not have clear objectives.

    ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

    • Shows technical depth and knowledge of power system concepts includingperforming ofload flow studies short circuit studies motor starting and protective devices settings coordination studies arc flash analysis grounding studies. (Electrical Only)
    • Advanced understanding and interpretation of code requirementsset forth inthe National Electric Code.
    • Advanced knowledge of guidelines and design requirements related to Hazardous Area Classificationset forth inAGA XL1001 and API RP 500 including proper specification of electrical equipment.
    • Advanced ability to develop instrumentation specifications and datasheets through delegating with other engineering support.
    • Advancedunderstanding of electrical construction and commissioning practices related to raceway electrical equipment power and control systems SCADA equipmentstartupand FCO.
    • AdvancedAbility todevelopcomplex and detailedelectrical one-lines three-lines schematics and connection diagrams.
