Description
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level I is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance calibration and repairs on a wide range of biomedical equipment. This role requires a strong technical background excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. The technician will also provide training and support to junior staff and clinical users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex maintenance calibration and repairs on biomedical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions utilizing schematics and technical manuals.
• Ensure all biomedical equipment meets safety and performance standards.
• Document all maintenance and repair actions in the equipment management system.
• Provide training and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support and equipment updates.
• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel

• To be Determined.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday 0630-1500 or 0700-1530
• On call as required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelors degree in biomedical Equipment Technology Electronics or a related field or DoD BMET School Graduate Active AAMI ACI credential.
• 1 year of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Advanced knowledge of electronic mechanical and computer systems.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems.

Certifications

• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand bend and stoop for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

Work Environment

• The work environment may involve exposure to hazardous materials and situations that require following safety protocols and protective equipment.

Pay Range

• $ 41600.00 - $ 52000 Annualized
• $20.00- $ 25.00 per hour.
