About the Role
Northern Trusts Wealth Management Sales Practice is seeking an individual to join a 10 person team dedicated to driving and supporting the growth of the business. The ideal candidate will be familiar with wealth and investment management principles and skilled in communication and process management. Primary responsibilities include conducting outreach and qualification of sales leads responding to RFPs and conducting prospect research. Other responsibilities may include assisting with asset allocation proposals fee proposals assigned special projects related to the sales process and reporting on sales activity. Knowledge of Northern Trusts business units or related industry practices are helpful in successfully completing responsibilities along with intermediate to advanced Excel and Word experience.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Sales Lead Outreach Engagement and Tracking: Actively conduct outreach to potential sales leads generated from marketing efforts and a variety of databases and digital tools. Serve as a first point of sales engagement initiating outreach and preparing sales leads for a warm handoff to front-line sales teams.
- RFP Writing: Respond to RFPs for Northern Trusts Wealth Management services. Engage appropriate Northern Trust partners from all business units to accurately answer RFP questions and convey relevant information. Work with partners across the company and research investment topics to develop edit and maintain material for use in proposals.
- Prospect Research: Compile detailed research on prospective Wealth Management clients using advanced research tools and resources.
- Fee Proposals: Assist partners in the preparation of proposals used to demonstrate and book fees associated with Wealth Management services.
- Asset Allocation: Conduct asset allocation studies using the WealthBench application.
- Special Projects: Complete special projects related to the sales process and lead generation as assigned. Support the evaluation implementation and management of various tools used in the sales process. Assist with ongoing and ad hoc reporting and analysis related to sales process.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of investment management principles and products custody trust and other banking services are helpful to perform primary duties
- Ability to coordinate multiple workflows
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; completion of or progress toward advanced degree and/or industry certification desired but not required
- 3-5 years in financial services sales support and/or sales lead engagement; marketing or writing experience also considered
- Experience with Microsoft applications including intermediate to advanced Word Excel and Teams experience

Salary Range:
$74200 - 126200 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
