Position Summary
The Director of Surgical Services will provide operational clinical financial and strategic leadership for the Operating Room department. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Surgical Services this leader will drive patient-centered surgical care optimize departmental performance and support continued growth of perioperative services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
Lead daily Operating Room operations and staffing initiatives
Ensure compliance with regulatory accreditation and patient safety standards
Improve operational efficiency quality outcomes and patient throughput
Oversee nursing practices departmental policies and standards of care
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across surgical teams
Strategic Leadership
Support growth initiatives and expansion of surgical services
Partner with physicians and executive leadership on strategic planning
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and service enhancements
Financial Management
Manage departmental budgets and operational expenses
Monitor labor productivity and financial performance metrics
Forecast staffing equipment and operational needs
Identify cost-saving and efficiency improvement opportunities
People Leadership
Mentor and develop leaders nurses and support staff
Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and engagement
Support recruitment retention and professional development initiatives
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors Degree required
BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
Active RN License required
Minimum 3 years of Surgical Services experience
Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Services leadership experience
