JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Community Relations and Service is responsible for coordinating the PA programs community engagement and service initiatives in alignment with the program mission and goals. This role includes developing and maintaining relationships with community partners organizing service opportunities and supporting recruitment and outreach events that promote the program within the local and regional community. The Director ensures that community service activities are meaningful sustainable and reflective of the programs commitment to Christlike service. Additional responsibilities include contributions to teaching scholarship and service within the PA program and the University.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Promote the mission of SNU and the PA program to faculty staff students and the community
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Maintain positive interpersonal relationships
Ability to work independently
Operate office and educational technology including standard office equipment learning management systems video conferencing platforms and other digital tools relevant to academic and administrative functions
Ability to adhere to institutional policies procedures and ARC-PA Standards
Additional duties as assigned
Academic Responsibilities (70% FTE):
Serve as a course director for assigned credit hours and provide instruction during didactic and/or clinical phases
Develop review and revise as necessary the mission statement goals and competencies of the program with program faculty
Evaluate student performance within assigned courses
Provide academic counseling for students within assigned courses
Serve as a faculty mentor (approximately eight (8) students per cohort)
Assure the availability of remedial instruction within assigned courses
Design implement coordinate and evaluate the curriculum in collaboration with program faculty
Scholarship/Service Responsibilities (20% FTE):
Serve on University committees as assigned
Participate in University and program faculty meetings workshops ceremonies and other required events
Serve on PA program committees (Student Progress Committee Curriculum Committee and Admissions Committee)
Participate in student recruitment events
Participate in the interview process and select applicants for admission to the PA program in collaboration with program faculty
Maintain Oklahoma licensure and NCCPA certification requirements
Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and faculty professional development
Engage in ongoing clinical practice or other professional scholarship opportunities
Up to four (4) hours per week may be allocated for clinical practice with approval from the Program Director.
Up to four (4) hours per week may be allocated to participate in scholarly activities with approval from the Program Director. Activities may include but are not limited to higher education leadership in professional organizations research publications professional presentations developing new curriculum or teaching materials grant writing or participating in grant funded projects.
Administrative Responsibilities (10% FTE):
Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and health organizations
Secure affiliation agreements with health organizations where students are required to participate
Oversee program social media accounts in collaboration with the PA Program Coordinator/Admissions specialist and Program Director
Coordinate volunteer/community service activities for students
Promote service-learning opportunities for PA students
Organize and oversee recruitment and outreach events
Provide reports and updates to program leadership on service initiatives partnerships and recruitment outcomes
Participate in the annual faculty retreat
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Supervision Received:
Receives supervision and work assignments from the PA Program Director.
