Job Purpose
Responsibilities of this job include answering all calls to switchboard outpatient scheduling and registration for all outpatientand ancillary departments. Responsible for switchboard operations petty cash mail distribution. Responsible for the organization and management of the Admissions office its records files and necessary systems. Responsible for obtaining and verifying all authorizations for scheduled outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Three years prior experience in a Hospital/Physician Office as aClerk Scheduler MA or NA preferred
Experience in a related outpatient positionpreferred
Knowledge of insurance Medicare and Medicaid practices
Ability to work with diverse groups including; physicians nurses therapists patients and families.
It is the employees responsibility to know the requirements for certification limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.
