Job Title: Learning and development trainer Job Type: Full-time Location: Southampton
Role Overview
As a learning and development trainer you will be responsible for delivering both practical and theoretical training conducting assessments and overseeing the accreditation process for new existing and external learners. This role involves developing individuals to meet industry and company standards managing learner progress and ensuring the efficient operation of the training centre. You will also support the creation and continuous improvement of training materials maintaining alignment with organisational goals and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based training sessions
Assess learner competence and progress maintaining accurate records of performance and outcomes
Support the accreditation process ensuring all learners meet required standards
Manage day-to-day operations of the training centre ensuring a professional and effective learning environment
Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials to reflect evolving practices and procedures
Adhere to both client and company guidelines when delivering accredited training programs
Represent the training function professionally providing guidance and expertise to staff at all levels
Desired Skills and Experience
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong planning and organisational skills with a proactive approach to training delivery
Adaptable to evolving industry standards and training methods
Passion for delivering excellent service and supporting learner development
A genuine interest in coaching and helping others succeed in their roles
Ability to create and develop effective engaging training content
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience in a training assessing or coaching role is highly desirable
A recognised teaching or assessing qualification is desirable
