Monday Friday: 5:45 AM 5:30 PM
Saturday: 6:45 AM 12:15 PM
Occasional weekends and holidays as needed
Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomy) to perform blood collection procedures in a safe accurate and efficient manner. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining specimen integrity for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages
Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens
Handle process and prepare specimens for transport and testing
Follow all infection control safety and compliance protocols
Maintain patient comfort and provide excellent customer service
Accurately document procedures in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Collaborate with healthcare staff including nurses and physicians
Assist with basic clerical and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred
Phlebotomy certification (e.g. ASCP NHA or equivalent) preferred or required per facility guidelines
Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred (hospital or clinical setting strongly preferred)
Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
CPR/BLS certification preferred or required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus
Knowledge of specimen handling infection control and safety standards
